You’ve been the best tutor I could ever ask for."

"I’m a sophomore and I’ll be honest, in the beginning it was rough. I was a freshmen last year and I wasn’t the best at algebra or math in general. It deeply frustrated me to the point where I felt upset with myself for not understanding. In the beginning, I was a little worried about getting a math tutor, I was worried that it wouldn’t be helpful or that I’d stay stuck but after meeting with Laila, all of it changed. We went over the basics and at first I was a little embarrassed but it really helped me. She was patient and very friendly, kindhearted, and very caring. She’s been the best tutor I could ever have and I would greatly recommend her for those who are struggling. She even taught me that it was okay to ask questions, no matter how embarrassing or bizarre I might think it was. Thank you Laila, for everything. You’ve been the best tutor I could ever ask for."

- Mochi I.

I wholeheartedly recommend Laila for tutoring and coaching work.

"Laila tutored both my sons in math and algebra and during that time she quickly became a trusted and integral member of their support team — especially my older son who learns differently than many other kids. She provided encouragement and enthusiasm at all times, but also a touch of tough love when it was needed. She was always ready and willing to change course if it seemed like something wasn't working, and she is infinitely patient, too — a great trait to have, especially when working with kids and teens. I wholeheartedly recommend Laila for tutoring and coaching work."

- Kris S.

You’ve been the best tutor I could ever ask for."

"Laila, thank you! My 12-year-old daughter has had the pleasure of working with an exceptional math tutor, and I am incredibly grateful for the impact she has had on her learning experience.
First and foremost, her teaching style is truly outstanding. She possesses a unique talent for breaking down complex mathematical concepts into easily understandable components. No matter how difficult the topic, she patiently guided my daughter through the material, providing clear explanations and examples until she fully grasped the concepts. Her ability to simplify abstract ideas helped her build a solid foundation in math and increased her confidence in tackling challenging problems."

When this client first came to me, they were in search of SAT tutoring and ADHD support. Through my initial assessment, we also discovered some test-taking anxiety and other wellness needs.

Initially:

I worked with this client two times per week for over a year. During that time we had 1:1 tutoring and SAT mock-testing days, as well as food and nutrition support, environment changes for ADHD, and development strategies for stress, anxiety, and time management.

during:

This client had some major successes! First, they got into a wishlist college, yay! But in addition to that, they had developed the life skills to successfully manage their ADHD in a way that would carry them through navigating the workload, time, and stress that comes with college. We met the initial goals that they had when coming to me, and added even more wins from there.

outcomes:

Focus Areas: Math + ADHD

Client B

Client B came to me in need of intensive organization help. Her ADHD had begun to interfere with her ability to maintain healthy friendships and complete her college classes. She was barely surviving, and desperately looking for a way to thrive.

Initially:

During our nearly full year of working together, Client B and I worked on several goals. We completed a Decluttering Detox, getting her physical space organized, as well as a Digital Detox. Both of these services helped manage her ADHD and clear her mind. Beyond organization, I was a coach and mentor to this client through an engineering Co-Op, where we worked on interview skills, time management, and general professionalism strategies.

during:

We saw huge success with Client B. She is now almost graduated from college, and a future woman in STEM!

Client C

Client C is an elementary-aged student who came to me while two-years behind in math. Aside from struggling with math assignments, she had difficulty focusing and overall lacked organization in her life.

Initially:

During my on-going time with Client C, we worked through many math-focused activities, but also developed a reward system to promote a positive relationship with math. We have worked on focus strategies and will be working on organizational habits together, as well.

during:

This is an on-going client, however in our 6 months together so far, her parents have already noticed improvement in grades, but mainly, increased confidence and a positive attitude towards math and school. I cannot wait to see the continued growth over time!
